The
Best Roads South of Great Smoky Mountains National Park - WEST
Includes
Guide to Roadside Waterfalls
- More
than 250 miles of the best roads
- Another
150 miles of good roads
- 8
roadside waterfalls
- Long
scenic rides through National Forests
- Extends
into South Carolina and Georgia
This unique collection
of roads south of Great Smoky Mountains National Park extends the
coverage of great rides through the National Forests described in
America Rides Map "The Best Roads South of Great
Smoky Mountains National Park - EAST" to present hundreds
more miles of scenic, challenging, and thrilling mountain roads
and more roadside waterfalls. When combined
with the companion map, "The Best Roads
South of Great Smoky Mountains National Park - EAST", nearly
20 roadside waterfalls can be toured.
The
focus of this map is on the little known and traveled gems
and jewels treasured by local riders in this playground of
mountain riding pleasures that give you alternatives
to the few main roads which are too often burdened with commercial
and tourist traffic. I've included a guide that helps you find 8
roadside waterfalls, some of which are great places for photos
with your bike. The roads are a challenge
of curves and rises that skirt along mountain lakes and reservoirs,
follow along serpentine creeks and streams, taking you into the
back hills only moonshiners used to frequent. I love these rides
and I know you will too.

Centered on
Franklin, North Carolina, this map includes the some of the most
remote sections of western North Carolina, extends south to in northeast
Georgia, and cuts across the southwest corner of South Carolina.
